I think we all know someone that has had their gallbladder removed. It seems like a common issue these days, but it does not have to be.

You can live without your gallbladder with a restricted diet, lifestyle changes, and supplements, but none of that sounds any fun. Especially when you can make a few changes now and have a healthy gallbladder.  

So what exactly does your gallbladder do? 

Essentially your gallbladder is a storage place for the bile your liver makes. Gall (another name for bile), and bladder (a storage sack.) As we learned last week in the liver post this bile helps to breakdown fat.

It is stored in your gallbladder until you consume fat, the gallbladder then squeezes or contracts to send this bile into your digestive track.  The gallbladder helps to concentrate this bile by removing up to 80-90% of the water from bile making it more efficient in breaking down fats.  ...

Limitless Organ Detox Week Two...Detox That Liver!

Welcome to the second week of our Limitless detox series. This week we will be discussing what your liver does, why you can’t live without it, and how to detox it so you can live your best life :)

 

So what exactly does your liver do? In a nutshell it filters everything you put into your body. It makes the toxins from daily life less harmful and removes them from the bloodstream. The liver is a hub/ cleaning center for your blood. By hub I mean that it tells what nutrients to go where, what needs to return into the bloodstream, and what needs to be exited from the body. 

 

The liver also helps by storing awesome minerals and vitamins such as iron, copper, vitamins a, d,e, k and b12. it puts all of these back into the body when and if needed. The liver breaks down fats and proteins. Alcohol is also processed in the liver. Alcohol in excess for a prolonged time can lead to fatty liver disease.

Week One Of The Limitless Organ Cleanse Series...Colon First

Welcome to part one of our four week Limitless organ detox series. This week we will be discussing the large intestine and unpacking some of the triggers that totally F up you're colon. We will then learn how to naturally cleanse your colon and prevent any future colon issues. Sounds pretty sweet to me!

 

One of main causes of colon issues is poor nutrition, to be even more specific processed meats. 

According to dig health there is mounting evidence that eating too much dirty red meat and icky processed meat increases your odds of colon issues and more specific colon cancer by 20% with every 25 grams of processed food you consume. 25 grams is about one slice of bacon…bummer right?

Examples of nitrate filled processed meats are (cheap) hot dogs, (cheap) bacon, (cheap) sausage, salami, all fast food, and most beef jerky unless it says otherwise. 

 

Equally as bad as cheap processed meats are gmo’s (genetically modified organisms). Basically fake food....

So What Makes You...You? It seems like an easy enough question right? But what I mean is what or who really makes you? I have done a lot of self reflection as of late and I have realized a lot about my life and about myself.

I have gone way back to my early childhood through my teenage years, early adulthood, and through to the present day. I have learned a lot about myself. I have learned a lot about who I was then, and who i am now. What a gift to be able to do so :)

When we are children we are to conditioned to act a certain way, to talk a certain way, not to be drawing attention to ourselves or our caregivers, unless it is good attention obviously :)

Upon my reflecting back to who i was as child I like many of you was not sure yet. I always remember saying that i felt I-was destined for great things, but I for sure didn’t know what that was way back then. A big part of me is still figuring it out today, that is what makes life so fun.

It sounds easy enough right? Im not talking about physically building a bridge, well-ish anyway. Let’s dig a little deeper into what i really mean. 

It’s been a pretty wild time these last few years. People have really shown their true colors, their true emotions, and their true character. I don’t mean any of this in a bad way, i am only making observations. 

 

I believe that fear is the emotion that has had the largest impact as a whole. Fear can make or break any situation, or anyone as a person. Fear is defiantly an icky emotion that doesn’t lead to good things. Fear leads to building fences that will “protect” you from the “crazy world” out there. F.Y.I. The world is not a crazy place just because some people think differently about some things than you do. We are all different, and thank god we are it would be really boring and tedious if we were all the same.
