Detox Binder Series: Week Two Activated Charcoal

Activated charcoal has become somewhat of a buzzword as of late. You can find it in toothpastes, face mask creams, powders, capsules, in deodorant and much more.

But what exactly is activated charcoal? And why do we want it to be in all of the above products? Read on!…

Activated charcoal is made from burning hardwood, bamboo, olive pits or coconut shells. The charcoal made from coconut shells is the most organic, and best in my opinion.

What makes the charcoal activated is being burned at a high temperature around 1200 degrees. With that being said, you can’t go out and grab some charcoal off your barbecue grill and ingest it…repeat…do not use charcoal from, your grill. The charcoal from your barbecue is laced with fuels to help it ignite and stay lit. Obviously not organic,  not activated, and pretty toxic.

When the charcoal becomes activated it opens up the surface area of the charcoal. After activation a small piece of...

Detox Binder Series: Week One C60 (Carbon 60)

So at this point you are probably wondering what C60 is, and how it can help you be healthier?! What I a detox binder anyway?

A binder basically helps to grab and absorb the toxins and bad free radicals that are released and floating around your body.

Remember your detox pathways have to be open for binders to work. You must be able to poop, see, and sweat.

Let's move onto this weeks detox binder spotlight...C60 (carbon 60)...:)

Let’s get right to the answer by first discussing the history of C60, what exactly it is, and some of the many health benefits.

C60, also known as Carbon60 was first theorized in 1965 by scientists and researchers, but no proof was established until 1985 when Harold Kyoto and a group of scientists at The University of Sussex used technology to discover C60.

It was named Buckminsterfullerene after Richard Buckminster Fuller. A famous architect who’s domes resembled C60. Any atoms in a cluster...

Magnesium...Everything You Don't Know You Are Missing

Magnesium... the wonderful super mineral that no one thinks about...until now...:)

The definition of Magnesium: A mineral that is important for normal bone structure in the body.

This is a true statement, magnesium is important to more than just bones though... Lets find out why... Magnesium plays a role in over 300 enzyme reactions in the human body.

Some of the functions magnesium helps with are muscle and nerve function, regulating blood pressure, and supporting the immune system.

Many people do not get enough magnesium in their diet, it is hard to see symptoms in an other wise “healthy” person though.

The benefits of magnesium:

1. Bone health Most of the attention for bone health refers to vitamin C (which has its role) , but magnesium is also essential for bone health.

2.Cardiovascular disease: Magnesium plays an important role in muscle health, including the heart.

3. Diabetes: Magnesium plays an important...

The Benefits Of Getting Inverted

You are probably wondering what in the heck could be beneficial from simply getting upside down? Well...the answer is...lot’s!

Where should we begin?!

How about back pain?

Getting inverted decompresses the spine. This helps to open up the discs and takes pressure off the nerves, reducing pain.

Being inverted also creates more space between the discs allowing for waste to be removed and hydration to occur.

Lymphatic drainage:

Getting inverted helps the lymphatic system to drain. The lymphatic system is basically the “sewer system” of the body. This system helps to carry the waste products from cells, and transport the blood back towards the heart to be cleaned by the liver, kidney, and lungs.

There is no pump to help this to happen, like the heart pumping the blood initially. By getting inverted you are letting gravity be the pump :)

Great hip opener:

We rely on our hips all day long with almost everything we do. Tight hips equal a tight everything. It...

How To Be The Light In A World Of Seemingly Darkness…

We could take a lot of different avenues with this blog post…and we will be careful not to get trapped in any rabbit holes.

I will also try to keep my opinions out of the text as well.

I will state observations I have made from years of life experience, and from quietly observing others.

The Final Week OF the Limitless Detox Series...Opening Your Detox Pathways

It has been so much fun doing the Limitless organ detox series. I have learned so much and feel so healthy. I put this blog post together as a quick reference for the series and a home for all of the links to each organ detox blog post.

Also as a huge reminder to make sure your pathways are open prior to starting to detox so you can clean out the toxins rather than reabsorb them.

A reminder to all of you before you start any detox there are a few things you need to make sure you can do.

They are poop, pee, and sweat.

In all of research on detoxing I have learned so much crucial information I was before unaware of. One of the biggest being detox pathways. Think about it, if you want to detox the toxins out of your body but they have no place to go, they will only get reabsorbed.

Think of your detox pathways as a freeway system in your body. Let’s say you detox something from your brain and it enters the freeway system headed south to find an exit to...

Limitless Detox Series Week Seven...Your Thyroid Is Crucial

Your thyroid is essential…let's learn how to keep it.

So what exactly is your thyroid?

Your thyroid is a butterfly shaped gland located located between the Adam’s apple (on a man) and the sternum. It is about as thick as two credit cards. You cannot physically feel the thyroid unless there is a guider on it, or it is enlarged. (The thyroid fixer)

Every cell in your body needs thyroid hormones, specifically T3. You're thyroid also makes a hormone called T4. Every cell has a receptor for T3, but not all for T4.These hormones are released when you’re thyroid receives a trigger from your brain. These hormones are circulated around your body and trigger changes at the cellular level.

These changes help to increase energy, control your weight, and many more tasks (we will discuss more below). When you are stressed out, eating unhealthy, and living an unhealthy lifestyle these triggers to the thyroid can get out of whack.

This leads from anything from dry...

Limitless Organ Detox Series Week Six...Let's Clean Up Your Complexion (Skin Detox)

It is week six of the limitless organ detox series already! Wow! I hope you are all feeling cleansed and amazing! This week we are going to be cleaning up your complexion, detoxing your skin.

Well, not really “detoxing” your skin. Let me explain…your skin may be your body’s biggest organ but it does not store toxins. Your skin is referred to as an elimination organ.

Your skin is one of the three main detoxing areas of your body including the bowels, and the lungs. You either breath out toxins, pee or poo them out, or sweat them out. Simple enough. I have repeatedly said that your body is always talking to you. Your skin is like the chalk board that the body uses to convey messages.

For instance when your bowels are overloaded, they push the toxins to your skin. When your lymphatic system is overloaded, you guessed it…it pushes the toxins to your skin. Have a taxed liver? This is why they really call them liver spots.

According to Dr David...

Week Five Of The Limitless Organ Detox Series...Let’s Go Pancreas Whoop! Whoop!

Welcome to week five of the limitless organ detox series. This week we will be learning about your pancreas...whoop! whoop!

Your pancreas is actually a gland located behind the stomach in the upper left abdomen. It is surrounded by other organs including the spleen, liver, and small intestine.

Your pancreas plays an essential role into converting (breaking down) the food we eat into energy for our body’s cells.

The two main functions of the pancreas are Exocrine and Endocrine. Let’s unpack each one and see what they do :)

Exocrine:

These exocrine glands produce enzymes to help break down food. These enzymes are called chymotrypsin and trypsin to to help digest the proteins we eat. And amylase to help digest carbohydrates, and lipase to help digest the fats we eat. When you start to digest food and it gets to the stomach a signal is sent to release these enzymes through ducts that lead to the pancreatic duct.

Limitless Organ Detox Series Week Four...It's Kidney Time!

We are already on week four of the Limitless organ detox, holy cow time flies when you are having fun :)

If you are just joining us we detoxed the colon the first week. The second week we moved onto cleaning the liver. The liver and gallbladder go hand in hand so we detoxed the gallbladder last week.

Now in week four of the series we will be figuring out exactly what the kidneys do, how to prevent them from getting unhealthy, and look at some alternative moves you can make before you have one removed (which is never good, we weren’t designed with extra parts :)

So what exactly does your kidneys do?

You have two kidneys. They are located on either side of your spine just below the rib cage. These bean shaped organs filter about a half of cup of blood every minute removing waste and extra water which becomes urine. Thus urine then flows through thin tubes called ureters to the bladder.

There is one ureter on each side of your bladder. Your bladder then stores...
