PLANK:
Plank is a great core strengthening exercise because there are so many modifications to meet you where you are at on your journey. Some of the modifications include starting on your knees if you need to. You can also start with your arms straight or with your elbows on the ground.
To do a plank:
Lie face down on a mat or the floor with your hands directly under your shoulders and your legs extended behind you.
From here you can use the modifications of leaving your knees on the ground, and pushing your upper body off the ground like a pushup. You can leave your knees on the ground and put your elbows directly under your shoulders with your forearms on the ground.
You can put your forearms on the ground directly under your shoulders and raise your knees off of the ground straightening your back. Or you can raise your upper and lower body off the ground hands under shoulders, arms extended and core engaged, this looks like the top of a pushup. Do what feels good to you and never push yourself too far.
Have fun strengthening your core and improving your way of life for you and your family.
