“How Strong Is Your Core?” The super importance of having a strong core!
Well?…How strong is your core?
Could you out run a threat if it was charging after you?
If it was a matter of life or death…how would you fair against your foe?
And yes, it helps to have a strong core to run fast, if your core is strong, everything is strong and your body is balanced in most cases.
I know we don’t have to run from wild animals that much anymore, but it gives you some food for thought anyway.
Your health is the most important, and probably the most neglected thing in your life.
You are so “busy” with distractions that you forget about Loving and taking care of yourself.
Remember what they say on commercial flights…to put your oxygen mask on first, before helping others with their mask.
This makes perfect sense, think about it. If you are unconscious, how much help are you going to be to anyone else, and especially yourself?
Apply this same theory to your health.
If you are super overweight and still making unhealthy life and nutrition choices, what good are you going to be to others when you are “unconscious”? Do you pick up what I’m putting down?
Basically if you don’t take of yourself first, you won’t be here to take care of others for the long haul, that is the straight truth.
I wish a happy long healthy life for everyone, but I am also not going to bullshit you to make you feel better for a moment, lets make you feel better long term :)

Let's get back to the importance of your strong, healthy core.
Strong core muscles are important for everyone, no one is left out. Athletes, roofers, plumbers, hair stylists, Lineman, a dump truck driver, brick layer, software engineer, even the person slinging your morning java for you on your way to work. Everyone.
Weak core muscles can lead to more mental and physical fatigue, less endurance, and more injuries. Nobody has time for injuries.
When your core muscles are weak, you are more susceptible to poor posture, lower back pain and muscle injuries.
When you strengthen your core and ab muscles, you will improve body pain, and may also help lower back pain.
Your core is made up of the central muscles that are involved in about everything we do. We defiantly do not want them to be weak.
A Harvard medical study called your core “the sturdy central link in a chain connecting your upper and lower body”, what a great analogy.
This could also be your “weakest link” depending on the healthy or unhealthy decisions you have made.
Let’s discuss some of the functional everyday movements that involves your core:
Sitting in a chair
Putting on your shoes
Getting dressed
Reaching overhead to change a light bulb
Lifting anything
Twisting any direction
Standing still
Driving a car
Riding a bike
Surfing
Basketball anyone?
You see what I am saying? Even if you are leading a sedentary life, and stuck at a desk all day, you are relying on your core to do most things.
It’s just that, when you are unhealthy you are asking a lot out of a weak core, and that is why you are in pain, grouchy, and feel icky most of the time.
Strength, Posture, and getting your body in alignment is huge. I go to the chiropractor as often as my schedule allows.
Between visits every morning I start with my over the door neck traction device, I then hang (from my extended arms) from my pull up bar for three minutes, and spend ten minutes upside down on my inverter.
Followed by ten minutes on my vibration platform. This helps me stay in alignment for sure, but the chiropractor adds to my daily regiment a lot.
If you have weak core muscles, it would be difficult to hang by your arms, or be upside down for any length of time…but you have to start somewhere...
